Retrouvailles Providentielles : Fatima Ba, le miracle d’une vie oubliée retrouvée

In a book entitled Providential Reunion, the director of the NGO Al Khayria, Halima Sall, tells a true story that is both heartbreaking and inspiring: that of Fatima Ba, a young girl abandoned by mistake at birth and miraculously found twenty years later.

Born as a twin at Grand-Yoff Hospital in 2000, Fatima was separated from her parents following a tragic mistake: her parents, wrongly convinced that she had died at birth, left the hospital without knowing that their daughter had survived. Interned in the nursery, then taken in at the age of one by the NGO Al Khayria, she grew up in the Louga orphanage, under the benevolent protection of Dr. Halima Sall, whom she now calls her spiritual mother.

Surrounded by love and religious and academic guidance, Fatima becomes a brilliant student and memorizes the Quran. But despite her success, a search for identity persists within her.

Twenty years later, thanks to the NGO's efforts, her biological parents were found. But against all odds, Fatima chose to remain faithful to the orphanage, her true home.

Thus, the NGO built a house for his destitute parents, a mosque, a well and a Koranic school for his village Mabo.

To immortalize the exceptional destiny of Fatima Ba, Dr. Halima Sall decided to make a book about it, an opportunity to pay tribute to the silent and constant commitment of her NGO Al Khayria which, since 1995, has worked with great discretion in the social field: more than 250 mosques built, 6 orphanages, 7 Franco-Arab schools and more than 800 wells dug in the most remote corners of Senegal. The organization is financed by the income generated from rental properties in Dakar and ten family bakeries, illustrating an autonomous and sustainable economic model.

Biography of Halima Sall: The courage to relearn, faith as a compass

At 40, after memorizing the Quran, Halima Sall decided to return to school, far from the usual paths. Settled in the United Arab Emirates, she joined a primary school dedicated to illiterate adults, in a CI class alongside her own children.

Guided by an unyielding will and unwavering faith, she climbed every rung of the educational ladder while continuing to teach the Quran in Saudi schools. She graduated with distinction from high school and then continued her university studies, earning her doctorate in religious studies.

Now the author of four books, Halima Sall is an inspiring figure of female resilience, religious and social commitment, and quiet leadership.

Through this book, the director of the NGO Al Khayria highlights the power of faith, the driving role of women in social life, and the lasting impact of solidarity with the most vulnerable. Her writings convey a powerful message: that of a lasting humanitarian commitment, based on faith, education, and solidarity.

Les Retrouvailles providentielles, written in Arabic and translated into French and English, will be officially presented at a dedication ceremony planned for next January.
