Reigning African champions Senegal have made a perfect start to their title defense. In their Group D debut, the local national team beat Nigeria 1-0.
It was Christian Gomis who scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute, on an assist from Serigne Moctar Koite.
Thanks to this prestigious victory against the Nigerian giant, Souleymane Diallo's men have got their tournament off to an ideal start.
