Rufisque et Sococim : Une convention de 5 milliards pour booster santé et mobilité
The city of Rufisque and Sococim Industries held an official ceremony this Wednesday, August 6, 2025, to validate a future agreement worth 5 billion FCFA over five years, focused on priority areas such as health, sanitation, vocational training and mobility.
"This ceremony reflects a shared desire to inaugurate a new governance of our interventions for the benefit of our surrounding communities. And the town of Rufisque marks the first step in an ambitious program that will serve as an example on a national scale," said Sococim Industries CEO Elhadji Mamadou Seck.
According to Mr. Seck, Sococim aims to reduce the investment gap in these key sectors, demonstrating that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a lever for collective development. He recalled that, as part of a 20-year mining agreement with the State of Senegal, Sococim has allocated more than 25 billion CFA francs to the city of Rufisque and neighboring municipalities, including 1.5 billion CFA francs specifically for CSR initiatives in the department of Rufisque.
The mayor of Rufisque, Dr. Oumar Cissé, welcomed this collaboration, which he described as "one of courtesy, kindness, rigor, but also responsibility." He called on the population to support this process to ensure its success.
Notables, local elected officials and a delegation from the general management of Sococim Industries took part in the ceremony.

SOCOCIM produit en moyenne 6 millions de tonnes de ciment par an. Si elle vend la tonne à 50.000 fcfa, elle va se faire un chiffre d’affaires annuel de 300 milliards et le maire de Rufisque est content parce qu’on octroie à la mairie et aux autres communes avoisinantes 25 milliards sur une durée de 20 ans. yen maylen gnou diam ya toujours une fois dans toute chose et cette convention est non seulement une première au Sénégal mais elle témoigne d'une volonté politique et engagement citoyen pour le développement durable de Rufisque. Mieux, elle vient en appoint des impôts locaux que la Sococim verse a la ville... deylen encourager teh bayi feuk jeuf... wassalaam 1
Il faut surtout pas oublier les quartiers Orstom Serigne Mansour et Autres avec l assainissement.la nappe d eau est a meme le sol
Félicitations à SOCOCIM et à la ville de RUFISQUE. Cette convention doit faire tache d'huile au Sénégal surtout pour les commune de Saint-Louis et Kayar avec l'exploitation du gaz et du Petrole
