CHAN 2024 : le Burkina Faso corrige la Centrafrique et se relance

Four days after their 2-0 defeat to host country Tanzania in Group B, Burkina Faso bounced back. The Stallions beat the Central African Republic 4-2 on Wednesday.

In this very open match, Burkina Faso opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Nasser Ouattara. The lead was short-lived, as the Central African Republic equalized four minutes later thanks to a magnificent free kick from Sidney Thibinda (15th).

In the second half, the Stallions regained the lead thanks to two penalties converted by Abdoul Aziz Guiro (61st minute) and Patrick Malo (76th minute) respectively. In the 84th minute, Abdoul Karim Baguian added a fourth goal to seal the victory.

In the final seconds of added time, Ange Zoumara reduced the score to 4-2 for the Central African Republic.

With this clear victory, Burkina Faso is back in the race to qualify for the quarter-finals.
