Crise universitaire : Thierno Alassane Sall accuse le régime de « placer ses ambitions au-dessus de la vie humaine »
Thierno Alassane Sall (TAS), leader of the Republic of Values party, strongly criticized the Diomaye-Sonko regime, accusing it of prioritizing political ambitions over the safety of citizens. According to him, Senegalese people are discovering with dismay the extent to which this government "places its ambitions above human life." The MP went further, denouncing what he called "the institutionalization of lies and manipulation as a method of governance."
TAS points out that in the aftermath of the tragic death of student Abdoulaye Bâ, the Minister of Higher Education made remarks deemed provocative regarding the ongoing reform: "It's all or nothing." The opposition considers this statement particularly shocking in the context of the mourning that has struck Cheikh Anta Diop University.
"This statement, made while the autopsy reveals extremely serious abuse and hundreds of students have been brutalized, sums up in itself the contempt of this power for human dignity and for the social body," he strongly deplores.
Beyond the physical violence, Thierno Alassane Sall accuses the authorities of showing a complete insensitivity to the social distress of the students. He asserts that the government is "taking indifference to the point of leaving students without the means to feed themselves," referring to scholarship delays and recurring tensions on campus. For the political leader, this handling of the university crisis reveals a profound disconnect between the regime and the realities on the ground.
