Altercation avec des journalistes lors d’une opération de déguerpissement à Keur Massar : Le DG de la SOGEPA recadre sévèrement le maire Bilal Diatta

Mayor Bilal Diatta was filmed during a tense altercation with journalists who had come to cover the operations. In the footage, widely shared on social media, the mayor can be seen exchanging heated remarks with the reporters, even going so far as to aggressively push their cameras away.
This behavior has provoked outrage among media professionals, who are demanding a public apology from the mayor for violating press freedom.
In the aftermath, SOGEPA's general manager, Elimane Pouye, emerged from his reserve to firmly reprimand the mayor of Keur Massar Sud. "Wrongs against words, a mayor should not act like this. A prefect once uttered an inappropriate word against the representative of the population. After conciliation, he apologized. This time, it is the representative of the population who is violently attacking them. And those who are reporting the incident, particularly journalists. Clearly, physical violence has taken precedence over words to express the wrongs," he wrote in a scathing post.
A call for mentality reform
Going further, Elimane Pouye ridicules the situation and calls for a profound reform of local governance. "Certainly, one of the major axes of Act 4 of decentralization should be the decongestion of hearts and minds, so that people can express themselves freely under the watchful eye of independent journalists."

Le ministre de l’intérieur a parfaitement le droit de s’attaquer au désordre généré par l’informel.
Dire le contraire c’est favoriser le populisme

Ce Bilal est par un accident de l'histoire devenu maire. Normalement, il ne devrait même pas être chef de quartier. Je n'ai rien contre les marchands ambulants. Il paraît qu'il était marchand ambulant.
Je suis d'accord avec elimane Pouye, il faut réformer la gouvernance locale pour corser les critères de candidature à la tête des collectivités territoriales. Au minimum, il faut un diplôme de licence. Attention, pas les licences des écoles de formation de la vdn de Dakar.
Le role des journalists c'est d'informer , pas de vigiler quoi que ce soit .
