Sécurisation de la zone nord : Armée, Gendarmerie, Police et Douanes en opération conjointe de nomadisation
As part of combined security operations, the defense and security forces of the northern zone (Military Zone number 2, Matam Gendarmerie Legion, Police, Customs) are organizing nomadization operations from February 12 to 16, 2026, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the National Gendarmerie.
The area of operation extends between Waoundé, Doundé-Bogue and Ouro-Koro.
In preparation for these operations, the Matam Gendarmerie Legion has deployed two platoons belonging respectively to the Surveillance and Intervention Squadrons of Ourossogui and Ranérou.
In addition, pairs of officers drawn from the local brigades were assigned to the joint patrols. The brigades where the operations take place ensure that the procedures related to locally observed offenses are followed up.
