Coupure d’électricité à Kédougou : un incident sur le réseau entre Fongolimbi et Niagalan interrompt l’alimentation
The National Electricity Company of Senegal (Senelec) announced on Friday, January 31, 2026, a temporary interruption of electricity supply in several localities in the Kédougou region, following an incident on the electrical network.
According to a press release from the Central-Eastern Regional Delegation (Distribution Service 2), the problem stems from a cable fault recorded on the line between Fongolimbi and Niagalan. This technical failure caused a power outage affecting the areas served by this line.
In response to the situation, Senelec's technical teams were immediately mobilized to restore power as quickly as possible. The company assures that all measures are being taken for a swift return to normal.
Senelec also apologizes to users for the inconvenience caused by this service interruption and invites customers to contact customer service for any further information.
This power outage comes at a time when the continuity of electricity service remains a crucial issue for the population, public services and economic activities in the Kédougou region.
