FIDAK 2025 : Mame Seydou Ndour salue l’affluence record au stand de la Police

The Director General of the National Police, Inspector General Mame Seydou Ndour, paid a visit on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, to the Dakar International Fair (FIDAK), organized at the Senegal International Trade Center (CICES).

After visiting several pavilions, including those of the defense and security forces and various ministries, the Director General concluded his tour at the National Police stand. There, he expressed his great satisfaction with the strong turnout of visitors: "I was particularly pleased visiting the National Police stand. It's the most popular stand. Behind you, you can see the entire population coming to visit this stand," he emphasized.

Highly sought-after administrative and technological services

This enthusiasm is explained by the diversity of services offered to citizens. "This is a stand that provides many services, particularly regarding the facilitation of procedures for administrative documents, such as national identity cards or passports, which are the main attractions," said the Director General of Police.

Beyond the formalities, Mame Seydou Ndour highlighted the public's interest in better understanding the institution's core missions. "The public has shown a particular interest in understanding how the police operate and what that entails. It's important that people visit our stand and see the full range of activities the police carry out in the area of security," he explained, adding that "the police are also an administrative body."

Technology at the service of security

The Inspector General also observed the development of specialized fields such as forensic science, law enforcement units, and, above all, the fight against cybercrime. "Cybercrime has become a major issue in national security discussions. I saw an extremely effective cyber-patrol software," he stated.

A call for citizen collaboration

Emphasizing the principles of community policing, Mame Seydou Ndour made a passionate appeal for greater collaboration between security forces and the public. "Security is not just a matter for the police, the gendarmerie, or the army. It's everyone's business," he stated, before strongly encouraging young people to explore careers in the National Police.
