Coupe du monde 2026 : l’Angleterre, Livramento forfait, Chalobah appelé en renfort
Just hours before their opening match at the 2026 World Cup against Croatia, England were forced to make changes to their squad. The Three Lions announced that Tino Livramento would miss the remainder of the tournament due to a calf injury.
This blow comes on the eve of a crucial first match for the English national team, who have high hopes for this World Cup. The 23-year-old full-back, considered one of his country's most promising young talents, will ultimately be unable to represent England on the world stage.
To compensate for this absence, the England manager has decided to call up Trevoh Chalobah. The Chelsea defender joins the squad and will try to bring his versatility and experience to the Three Lions' defense.
Aged 27, Chalobah has limited experience with the national team. His only appearance in an England shirt dates back to a friendly match against Senegal last June, a match in which England lost 3-1.
While his presence for the clash against Croatia seems unlikely due to his late arrival in the squad, the Sierra Leonean-born player should nevertheless be available for the remaining matches of the tournament. A welcome boost for England, who have already faced a setback even before the start of their World Cup campaign.
