TGI THIÈS : 3 ans ferme requis contre le drogué C. Doumbouya pour avoir poignardé son grand frère
C. Doumbouya will be sentenced to three years in prison if the judge of the Thiès court of summary jurisdiction follows the public prosecutor's recommendations. Charged with assault and battery and illegal possession of a firearm, he is also accused of stabbing his older brother, A. Doumbouya.
According to the plaintiff, it was a dispute that escalated. The victim claimed that his brother stabbed him with a knife after an argument related to his consumption of marijuana and "guinz" at the family home.
"My brother spends all his time smoking marijuana or 'guinz' in the house. Because of this drug, he's causing chaos. When I tried to stop him, he grabbed a knife and stabbed me in the arm. He's violent and he attacks the whole family," said A. Doumbouya. He claims he lost consciousness and woke up at the fire station after the attack.
The defendant tried to downplay the events, stating that it was an exchange of blows, but admitted to taking revenge with a knife.
The public prosecutor considered C. Doumbouya guilty of the charges and requested a three-year prison sentence.
The verdict is expected soon.
