Dette publique : Madiambal Diagne tacle l’ex-président de la Cour des comptes Mamadou Faye
Former Court of Auditors president Mamadou Faye's statements regarding the public debt controversy continue to generate reactions. Following his interview with L'Observateur, journalist Madiambal Diagne took to social media to voice his concerns through a series of posts.
He notably criticizes the former head of the financial jurisdiction for having waited until the end of his term to provide details on a case that has fueled heated debates in Senegal.
"Unacceptable! Mamadou Faye waits until he leaves office to find the virtue to enlighten the Senegalese people," he wrote, believing that a statement from the Court of Auditors at the time of the report's publication would have avoided many controversies.
In another message, Madiambal Diagne maintains that the Senegalese people expected nothing more than the publication and explanation of the report. According to him, Mamadou Faye had all the necessary authority to speak publicly on the subject.
The journalist went further, denouncing what he called "cynicism," accusing the former president of the Court of Auditors of having deprived the public of clarifications that, in his view, could have informed citizens about the report's conclusions. He also reiterated that the Court of Auditors' reports are intended to be made public.
