ABUS DE CONFIANCE : O. Ndiaye s'engage à retrouver les bœufs de I. Sène volés, empoche 250 000 FCFA et disparaît
Charged with breach of trust, 19-year-old sheet metal worker O. Ndiaye received 250,000 FCFA from I. Sène, promising to help him recover his 10 stolen oxen. Despite receiving the money, the animals were never found, and O. Ndiaye took no concrete action.
Faced with this, I. Sène took the matter to court, believing he had been swindled by the young sheet metal worker.
In the dock of the Thiès court for flagrant offenses, the defendant attempted to deny the accusations. He stated that he had never promised to recover the cattle. However, witness testimonies contradicted his version of events. According to I. Sène, the young O. Ndiaye had approached him, leading him to believe that he knew who had stolen his cattle and that he could return them if he was paid 250,000 CFA francs.
The plaintiff stated that after handing over the sum of money to the defendant, he assured them that the animals would soon find him at his home. I. Sène said that, unfortunately, he remained there for days without any results.
The public prosecutor has requested the application of the law.
The verdict is expected soon.
