Air Côte d’Ivoire achète son premier avion long-courrier pour desservir la ligne Abidjan-Paris

It's been effective since yesterday, Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Air Côte d'Ivoire finally has its first long-haul aircraft. A delegation from the national airline received the aircraft in Toulouse, France.

The aircraft was an Airbus A330-900neo. The delegation included Ivory Coast's First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, and Transport Minister, Amadou Koné.

"For the first time in its history, our country is acquiring a latest-generation large aircraft..."

The wife of the Ivorian president hailed a memorable moment in the history of Ivorian aviation.

"For the first time in its history, our country is acquiring a latest-generation, energy-efficient, connected wide-body aircraft that offers passengers travel comfort worthy of the world's largest airlines," said Ms. Ouattara.

With this new aircraft, Air Côte d'Ivoire will be able to open the Abidjan-Paris route.

For the wife of the Ivorian president, this "opens up many opportunities, especially for young entrepreneurs (in the country)."

Minister Amadou Koné revealed that the airline's launch of long-haul flights is part of an initial deployment plan not only to support the country's economic progress but also to consolidate Air Côte d'Ivoire's economic viability.

For a non-stop Abidjan-Paris connection

The Airbus A330-900neo will enable the national airline to operate the Abidjan-Paris route non-stop. It has a range of over 7,000 nautical miles (approximately 13,250 km) and is designed to reduce fuel consumption per seat by 25% compared to previous-generation aircraft.

In addition to its technical and environmental performance, the aircraft offers passengers comfort. Passengers will be able to enjoy, for example, the "Airspace" cabin, a quieter space (up to 3 decibels quieter than competitors), adjustable LED lighting to reduce jet lag, enlarged overhead bins, and seats configured 8 or 9 abreast, ensuring a pleasant journey.

To be more complete about the seats, it must be said that there are 242 of them. There are 4 in First-class, 44 in Business-class, 21 in Premium and 173 in Economy class.
