Attaque contre l’aéroport de Niamey : L’avion d’Air Côte d’Ivoire touché, de retour à Abidjan, la réaction du ministre des Transports
In Niger, Niamey airport and Air Force Base 101 were attacked on the night of January 28-29, 2026. The routed assailants, in their flight, fired on an Air Côte d'Ivoire Airbus A319 parked on the tarmac, damaging its fuselage and right wing.
According to information reported by "Fraternité Matin", the aircraft returned to the tarmac of Abidjan airport on Friday, February 6, 2026.
"I came to assess the extent of the damage caused."
Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Amadou Koné visited the airport platform last Monday to see for himself the arrival of the Airbus A319.
"I came to assess the extent of the damage. I note that our staff, already mobilized here, in conjunction with the manufacturer, have begun work to ensure the aircraft is quickly available and fully operational. I would like to congratulate them and reassure everyone: we continue to do everything possible to ensure that Africans from countries served by Air Côte d'Ivoire can travel in good conditions," the official stated.
Following the Niamey incident, Air Côte d'Ivoire will therefore continue to serve African capitals, with "some adjustments related to security issues", Amadou Koné also informs.
