The attack on Niamey airport and Air Base 101 in the Nigerien capital has not gone unnoticed in Chad. In a statement released late last week, the government of Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno condemned this cowardly and barbaric act in the strongest possible terms.

Wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded soldiers

He expresses his total solidarity with the President of the Republic of Niger, Army General Abdourahmane Tiani and with all Nigeriens who have suffered greatly.

N'Djamena finally offered its wishes for a speedy recovery to the soldiers injured in the attack, while reiterating its "unwavering commitment to continue the fight against terrorism, a scourge that constitutes a threat to peace, security and stability in the Sahel region."
