Capitaine Elvire Toupé, nouvelle aide de camp du président béninois Romuald Wadagni.

She is now the shadow of the most powerful man in Benin. Captain Elvire Toupé has been appointed aide-de-camp by the new Beninese president, Romuald Wadagni. This is a first in the history of the Republic. Never before has a woman held this position. The military officer is a member of the Republican Guard, the elite force responsible for the security of the President of the Republic, the protection of high-ranking officials, and the security of national institutions. In a brief interview with the digital media outlet "Benin Bouge," Ms. Toupé explains that her "role is primarily to assist (the Head of State) and to coordinate all security arrangements surrounding him during his activities and travels."

D’habitude ce sont des officiers supérieurs expérimentés qui exercent cette fonction pour les chefs d’état. Au Sénégal ils sont colonels et finissent souvent généraux.
