Bénin : Talon nomme l'ex-Premier ministre Lionel Zinsou
Former Beninese Prime Minister Lionel Zinsou, an unsuccessful candidate in the 2016 presidential election, did not remain in the opposition for long. A few years after his defeat, he sided with Patrice Talon. In early 2022, he attended the opening of the exhibition of royal treasures returned by France.
"Lionel Zinsou has never been my opponent"
The Beninese president, who also attended the event, will take advantage of the event to comment on his relationship with the former head of PAI Partners.
"Lionel Zinsou was never my opponent, other than my competitor. We can say that overall I won," he said.
Yesterday, Wednesday, October 1st, we learned that the Franco-Beninese was appointed president of the Sèmè City Foundation. This decision was made during the Council of Ministers meeting held the same day.
Fructueux S. Aho, appointed Executive Director of the Foundation
The former Prime Minister will be supported by Fructueux S. Aho, appointed to the post of Executive Director.
Let us recall that the Sèmè City Foundation's mission is to promote innovation, applied research and entrepreneurship in Benin. Mr. Zinsou will have to ensure strategic management of this center of excellence less than 8 months before the end of President Talon's second and final term.
