Burkina Faso : L’ONG néerlandaise INSO accusée d’espionnage sur le territoire burkinabé
Burkina Faso's Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, announced the suspension of the International NGO Safety Organization (INSO), accused of conducting espionage activities on national territory. Based in The Hague, the organization allegedly collected and transmitted sensitive information on military operations, the positions of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and security incidents in Burkina Faso and Mali.
According to investigations, its country director, Jean-Christophe Émile Pégon, allegedly directed his staff to collect data of a military and political nature.
The government suspended all of the NGO's activities by decree dated July 31, 2025, after noting the continuation of clandestine activities. Seven employees, including foreign and Burkinabe nationals, were arrested.
