Burkina Faso : près de 70 kg de drogue saisis et un réseau de trafiquants démantelé
The National Police have dismantled a drug trafficking network in Bobo-Dioulasso, seizing approximately 70 kg of cannabis, estimated to be worth 20 million FCFA. The operation, led by the Regional Judicial Police Service, began with the arrest of an individual transporting 99 balls of drugs on a moped.
The investigations identified several accomplices, including a woman residing in a neighboring country who attempted to recover the merchandise by offering nearly two million CFA francs. A member of the network, who came to deliver this sum, was arrested for attempted bribery.
The investigation also revealed a modus operandi involving a public transport driver, tasked with transporting the drugs from a neighboring country by concealing them in the vehicle's engine. A total of 118 balls of the drug were seized, and the suspects were brought before the courts.
