A delegation of approximately 700 Afro-descendants, led by the President of the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), Dr. Arikana Chihombori, arrived in Burkina Faso on October 26, 2025, for a symbolic return to their ancestral homeland.
Welcomed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation expressed its pride in reconnecting with its African roots and showing its support for President Ibrahim Traoré, whose pan-Africanist vision inspires the diaspora.
This stay, scheduled until November 8, includes official meetings, cultural visits, solidarity actions and economic exchanges aimed at strengthening historical, identity and economic ties between Burkina Faso and the African diaspora.
