Colère de Macron lors du sommet Africa Forward : La réaction de Ségolène Royal
Emmanuel Macron's outburst of anger at the noise from the Kenyan audience during a cultural conference at the "Africa Forward" summit has not gone down well with Ségolène Royal. Speaking on X, the former minister, a member of the French Socialist Party, deplored what she saw as a lack of respect for Kenyans.
"Astounding. What right do they have to lecture the Kenyan public? The African press is appalled. Beware of behavior seen as neo-colonial, especially since the French presence on the African continent has collapsed, particularly in Francophone Africa, to the point that no Francophone country agreed to host this summit," wrote the French woman born in Dakar.
For Ségolène Royal, France must rebuild its relationship with Africa. She questions the French president about several agreements previously signed to this effect. "We will need to patiently and quickly rebuild a relationship of trust, equality, and partnership—this is crucial for our shared future—with a large, young, and promising neighboring continent. Where, for example, have the actions implemented after COP21, such as the International Solar Alliance, gone, when 300 million people still lack access to electricity? Respect, follow-through, and seriousness are essential," advises Ségolène Royal.
On the sidelines of this summit, during an interview with Jeune Afrique, Emmanuel Macron discussed France's new partnership with Africa, opening itself up to adapting to the new aspirations of the continent's countries.
