Journalist Djiba Millimouno, former columnist for Les Grandes Gueules (Espace FM), continues to experience a turbulent legal situation. After several days spent in the premises of the Central Directorate of Judicial Investigations of the Gendarmerie (DCIJ), he was brought before the prosecutor's office of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Kaloum on Monday, October 6, 2025. However, his time in court was short-lived. According to a judicial source, "as soon as he was questioned by a magistrate, he was taken back to the High Command of the Gendarmerie."

The issue is a territorial jurisdiction issue: the facts alleged against the journalist allegedly occurred within the jurisdiction of the Dixinn court and not Kaloum. The former columnist was arrested last Thursday in Kipé, before being taken into custody at the Kipé Research Brigade, then transferred to the gendarmerie's DCIJ in Kaloum. According to a source close to the case, the case allegedly stems from a dispute with activist Maya la Solution. She reportedly encountered the journalist in a supermarket in Kipé, where they began discussing the kidnapping of El Hadj Adama, the father of Mamoudou Babila Keïta, in N'Zérékoré. "Maya allegedly said that Djiba was not in his right mind before threatening to have him arrested because of his comments," the source explains.

Moments later, a team from the Research Brigade reportedly arrived on the scene and arrested the journalist. The complainant accuses Djiba Millimouno of violence and public insults. For the time being, the journalist remains in the custody of the Gendarmerie High Command, awaiting further direction on his case. The case has sparked strong reactions in media circles, with several colleagues calling for respect for press freedom and a fair procedure.
