Côte d'Ivoire: quatre morts et un disparu dans une attaque d'hommes armés près de la frontière du Burkina
Four villagers were killed and another missing in an attack by "unidentified armed individuals" on Sunday night in northeastern Ivory Coast near Burkina Faso, the army said in a statement Tuesday.
The attack took place in the hamlet of Difita, located "two kilometers" from the border with Burkina Faso, said the chief of staff, General Lassina Doumbia, in the press release.
While Burkina Faso has been plagued for years by recurring jihadist violence, Côte d'Ivoire has not experienced a deadly attack since 2021.
