Doumbouya devant le Conseil supérieur de défense de Guinée : « Je ne permettrai à personne de nous ramener en arrière »
In Guinea, President General Mamadi Doumbouya chaired the second session of the High Council of National Defense on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Mohammed V Palace in Conakry. This strategic meeting, dedicated to priorities in the areas of national defense and security, comes less than a month before the presidential election in the country.
The statutory members of the Council received guidance from Doumbouya to ensure a secure and stable environment throughout the national territory.
"We all know what our country was like four years ago..."
The president emphasized the importance of "securing the electoral process before, during, and after the vote." He also stressed the need for strategic measures to guarantee the free movement of people and goods throughout the country.
“We all know what our country was like four years ago, and we also appreciate all the work accomplished in recent years. I say this, and I will not allow anyone to take us back. The momentum of development underway will not be interrupted,” warned the leader, for whom Guinea is now a “stable country that will continue to give itself the means to preserve this stability.”
He wants to legitimize his power
It's worth recalling that Mamadi Doumbouya came to power in a coup on September 5, 2021. After more than four years in power, he is preparing to hold presidential elections on December 28. This election could well legitimize his rule, as he is a candidate.
