Drame des migrants : La Guinée lance l'opération "Seconde Chance" pour ses milliers de fils bloqués à l'étranger
The situation of Guinean migrants abroad is causing serious concern. Thousands of young people, stranded particularly in Italy, Algeria, and Niger, are still waiting for possible repatriation, in a context marked by precariousness and uncertainty.
According to the authorities, the phenomenon has reached an alarming level. Between transit centers in North Africa and reception camps in Europe, many Guineans live in difficult conditions, far from their families and without clear prospects.
Prime Minister Bah Oury acknowledged the scale of the crisis, mentioning in particular the presence of more than 15,000 young Guineans in Italy, many of whom are awaiting repatriation. Regarding those stranded between Algeria and Niger, the exact figures remain uncertain.
A structured return and a second chance
Faced with this situation, the government intends to implement a strategy of assisted voluntary return. The objective is to allow migrants to return to Guinea with dignity, while offering them concrete prospects.
The head of government has therefore proposed a model based on technical and vocational training, in order to promote the reintegration of young people into the local job market.
"Those who left in search of a future will be able to return and rebuild their lives thanks to appropriate training," he stated.
A reintegration policy is being prepared.
Beyond repatriation, the authorities are counting on a comprehensive reintegration program. This should be supported by technical and financial partners, with the aim of turning this crisis into an opportunity.
The government thus wishes to establish a genuine support ecosystem, aimed at restoring hope to these young people who often face migration failure.
"Guinea needs its youth. It is not a question of considering them as lost, but of offering them a second chance," insisted Bah Oury.
This migration crisis highlights the structural challenges facing Guinea, particularly in the areas of employment and training. While government announcements offer hope, their implementation will be crucial to effectively addressing this social emergency.
