Communiqué de la CEDEAO sur les attaques terroristes en Afrique de l’Ouest
The ECOWAS Commission expresses its deep concern over the resurgence of terrorist attacks in several West African countries, particularly Nigeria, where civilians of all faiths – Muslim, Christian and others – are being targeted.
She firmly rejects accusations of an alleged genocide targeting a religious group, calling the allegations false and dangerous because they threaten social cohesion and regional security.
ECOWAS calls on the United Nations and its international partners to strengthen their support to member states in the fight against terrorism, which strikes without distinction of religion, origin or age, and urges the international community to unite to support the countries of the region in this common fight.
