Élection présidentielle en Guinée : Le point à Labé et à Kankan
This Sunday, December 28, 2025, Guinean voters are going to the polls to elect their next president. From Middle Guinea to Upper Guinea, the election is currently taking place in a peaceful atmosphere, although voter turnout varies from one area to another.
In Labé, the city of Karamoko Alpha, polling stations opened in the early hours of the morning. However, between 8:30 and 10:20, voter turnout remained relatively low in several centers of the urban commune, notably at the Konkola and Thyndel colleges, as well as at the Kouroula primary school (administrative district), according to our correspondents.
While the voting process is proceeding peacefully, some voters are still having difficulty locating their polling station. In the polling stations visited, only the GMD, BL, and FRONDEG parties have representatives.
In Kankan, however, the enthusiasm was palpable from dawn. In the town of Nabaya, citizens began arriving at polling stations as early as 6:40 a.m. At the Gare polling station in the urban commune, long lines formed in a calm atmosphere.
The same is true at the central administrative block, where voters, cards in hand, patiently await their turn. At the Gare 2 polling station, the turnout is particularly noticeable: all polling station staff are present, and several national observers have been observed.
Safety and punctuality
In both locations, no incidents were reported by late morning. Most polling stations opened on schedule, and security forces are visible on the ground. Voting is proceeding peacefully.
