Accident mortel impliquant un chanteur pro-Doumbouya en Guinée : L’ex-ministre de la Justice, Charles Wright, en colère
In Guinea, the Coyah prefecture was the scene of a fatal accident involving popular pro-Doumbouya singer Seydouba Bangoura, aka Singleton. According to testimonies gathered at the scene of the accident on August 27, it was the artist's vehicle that knocked down the unfortunate Mohamed Traoré, a man in his sixties. He reportedly didn't even bother to stop to assist the victim. The singer's behavior did not please Alphonse Wright at all.
This act "which rhymes neither with respect for human dignity nor with the sacred character of life"
In a note published yesterday, Saturday, August 30, he expressed his indignation at this act "which rhymes neither with respect for human dignity nor with the sanctity of life." The former Minister of Justice also called on the justice system to open an investigation to shed light on the circumstances of the death of the unfortunate Mohamed Traoré.
"I draw the attention of the competent authorities in charge of legal proceedings, in my capacity as a simple citizen, so that the whole truth is established in accordance with the rules of a fair and equitable trial around this case which has aroused strong indignation among public opinion. This is so that justice is done to the beneficiaries of the late Mohamed Traoré," he indicated in the note, specifying that the singer has so far enjoyed the presumption of innocence.
"No one should be above the law"
In Guinea, the Penal Code punishes involuntary homicide. Charles Wright ultimately reminds us that "no one should be above the law."
Singleton is a supporter of Guinea's transitional president, Mamadi Doumbouya. Earlier this year, he stated in an interview that he was firmly committed to the putschist.
