Guinée : Un enfant de 11 ans, qui avait mémorisé la moitié du Coran, tué par balle à Hamdallaye
A tragedy struck the Hamdallaye neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, November 11, 2025. Alpha Ousmane Diallo, an 11-year-old boy in the fifth grade, was shot and killed as he returned from his Koranic school around 2 p.m. According to his family, the shot came from security forces deployed in the area.
A father in shock
Mohamed Alpha Diallo, the victim's father, whom we met on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, recounted the circumstances of the tragedy with emotion: "Yesterday, around 2 p.m., my sister informed me that my son had been shot in Hamdallaye Plaque and had died at the scene. I was devastated. I had left him in good health that morning. He had gone to study the Quran, as usual. After eating, he went back to the Quranic school. When he arrived at Hamdallaye Plaque, there was a bit of activity. The security forces stationed there opened fire, and the bullet entered his back before exiting through his chest," he testified, deeply affected.
The father also claims that marks on his son's body suggest he was dragged after being shot. "Those who were there told us that the person who shot him even dragged his body before leaving."
A pious and exemplary young student
Alpha Ousmane was a fifth-grade student at the Koranic school. According to his family, he had already memorized half of the Holy Quran. "He never participated in demonstrations. Even when there were some, he stayed home. To this day, no authority has come to see us," his father lamented.
The young boy's body is currently at the morgue of the mosque in the Dar-es-Salam district.
The pain of an inconsolable mother
His mother, Kadiatou Diallo, struggles to contain her grief. "I left my son around 2 p.m. yesterday. I went to read the Quran, and he went to his Quranic school. A few minutes later, I received a call informing me that he had been hit by the police. When he left, there were no problems in the neighborhood," she recounts, her voice trembling.
She appealed to the authorities: “We demand justice for our son. Those who are supposed to ensure our safety cannot take the lives of innocent children. This must stop. May God welcome his soul into peace.”
An investigation expected
At the time of writing, no official reaction had been recorded from local or security authorities. Residents of Hamdallaye are demanding a transparent investigation to shed light on the tragic death of Alpha Ousmane Diallo.
