Guinée : Aboubacar «Toumba» Diakité transféré à Coyah
In an official statement released on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the public prosecutor's office at the Conakry Court of Appeal announced the immediate transfer of Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité, known as "Toumba," to the Coyah Central Prison. This removal follows a search operation that escalated into violence at the capital's main prison.
Seizure of prohibited goods and bladed weapons
Everything changed on Monday, February 9, 2026. Under the authority of the public prosecutor's office, a surprise inspection was launched to "clean up" the Conakry Central Prison. The results of the search were unequivocal: the officers seized a motley inventory of prohibited items, ranging from cell phones and psychotropic substances to bladed weapons (scissors, knives, and forks).
It is in this context of tension that Moussa Dadis Camara's former aide-de-camp is said to have distinguished himself.
According to the public prosecutor, Mr. Diakité adopted an "aggressive attitude", categorically opposing the regulatory search of his cell.
The statement emphasizes that the inmate made direct threats against security officers, causing considerable unrest among the prison population and threatening the security balance of the facility.
A disciplinary transfer to "preserve order"
Describing the situation as "alarming," the prison administration confirmed Toumba Diakité's transfer to Coyah this Tuesday. For the public prosecutor's office, this transfer addresses three key needs:
• To preserve public order ;
• Guarantee the physical integrity of fellow inmates;
• Ensure the safety of the monitoring staff .
Attorney General Fallou Doumbouya concluded by reaffirming his firm stance: no sanctuary of impunity will be tolerated within penitentiary establishments, the fight against organized crime being carried out also - and above all - behind bars.
