Guinée : Cinq élèves renvoyées pour diffusion de vidéos inappropriées sur les réseaux sociaux

Kamsar, Guinea – The Boké Prefectural Directorate of Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training (DPE/ETFP) has taken strong disciplinary action by expelling five students from the N'Dama and Mohamed VI high schools. This decision follows the dissemination on social media of videos deemed contrary to moral values and school regulations.

A dissemination detrimental to the school

According to the official statement, the events took place on a family property in the CBG housing complex. The videos, filmed by regularly enrolled students, quickly circulated online, provoking outrage within the educational community.

"After verification, hearings and analysis of the videos by the school administration, it appears that the content of these videos seriously undermines moral values, school discipline, as well as the image and reputation of Guinean schools," the statement said.

Despite awareness campaigns on the responsible use of social media, these acts have persisted, justifying strict disciplinary action.

Strict but educational sanctions

The five students will be excluded from all Guinean schools from February 16 to July 3, 2026. Their reintegration will be conditional upon a written commitment signed by both parents.

The measure also includes the immediate replacement of the management of the N'Dama High School and the systematic reading and explanation of internal regulations and codes of conduct in all public and private establishments, from February 17 to March 17, 2026.

A lesson for the entire educational community

The sanctioned students were enrolled between the 10th and 11th grades. The administration emphasizes that this decision, while firm, has an educational purpose: to encourage students and their families to adopt responsible behavior that respects social, moral, and educational standards.

This case illustrates the vigilance of school authorities regarding the use of social networks and their impact on discipline and the reputation of Guinean schools.
