Habib Diarra, sur sa sélection pour la Can: «Je suis toujours prêt à répondre aux exigences»
Despite being sidelined for several weeks due to injury, Habib Diarra has remained a key player for the national team. Despite a lengthy recovery period, the Senegalese midfielder is included in Pape Thiaw's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, scheduled from December 21 to January 18.
In an interview with Dsport, Habib Diarra maintains that he is in contact with Pape Thiaw, the technical and medical staff of the Lions. This regular communication has strengthened the bond of trust between the player and his coach.
“During my recovery, we stayed in touch, as well as with the team’s medical staff. He told me he had confidence in me and that my health was the most important thing,” he confided.
For the young international, this human and professional approach from the coach is essential. "Pape Thiaw is a coach who thinks a lot about the players," he emphasizes, praising the attention given to the well-being of the athletes before any sporting considerations.
Habib Diarra remains aware of the demands of the highest level. "I'm always ready to meet the demands. We live in a world where we don't have a choice: either you have the level, you play, or you don't, you stay out," he acknowledges before adding: "I know my qualities, I continue to progress and improve. I work hard every day and I know I'm ready for the AFCON."
