IATF 2025 : Alger accueille la Foire commerciale intra-africaine
From September 4 to 10, the Algerian capital will become the "nerve center" of African trade. This major event, which brings together entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and experts, aims to strengthen economic exchanges on the continent.
"In a constantly changing context, where balances and challenges are redrawing African priorities, the organization of this fair in Algiers promises to be a major undertaking and a pivotal moment in the continent's trajectory. It constitutes an unprecedented opportunity for Algeria to demonstrate its ability to combine economic ambitions, logistical know-how and proactive diplomacy. The IATF 2025 represents a strategic opportunity for Algeria because it aims to consolidate its place in the African economic space and project a renewed image of its productive potential. It aims to raise intra-African cooperation to a structuring level and generate concrete benefits for the promotion of trade and the integration of the country into the continental commercial dynamic," it was stated in the document submitted during a meeting and exchange session between the new Algerian Ambassador to Senegal and the national press, this Friday, August 15, in Dakar.
A strategic meeting
Beyond just a trade fair, the fair is part of the dynamics of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). "This continental fair, however, goes beyond a trade fair. It marks a strategic moment in the implementation of the AfCFTA and offers Algeria a unique showcase to promote its exportable offerings," it was emphasized.
Since its independence, it has been noted that the country has always distinguished itself by its active support for liberation movements, but also by its constant and committed diplomacy in the service of continental causes. And this leading role largely explains its election to head several bodies of the African Union, and reinforces the legitimacy of Algiers, as the host city of this continental event, eagerly awaited, moreover, by African entrepreneurs and economic experts.
For the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, this event reflects his long-term strategy, namely diversification of the national economy, intensification of African partnerships and a clearly stated desire to break with unbalanced economic relations.
A week to strengthen the continent's trade ties
"This ambitious approach finds, today, a concrete expression in the organization of this pan-African fair, which many experts consider to be a crucial lever for the promotion of trade, at the level of a market estimated at more than 3,000 billion dollars. Algeria is mobilizing, on this occasion, all the necessary means to make the IATF-2025 a benchmark event, even a strategic turning point in the economic projection of Algeria on the African continent, in line with the aspirations of the African peoples
Algiers will therefore, in the space of a week, reconnect with its destiny as a great African city, with a strong historical charge, recalling a recent past, made of African hope. "At a time when the African continent is looking for its new bearings, the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair of Algiers stands as an example of exchange, ambition and reciprocity," it was concluded.
