Incivisme à Conakry : jusqu’où irons-nous ?
Conakry, Guinea – The lack of civic responsibility in some neighborhoods of Conakry is becoming alarming. Residents are even going so far as to open up drainage culverts to dump their garbage, turning these public works into veritable dumps. This behavior is not simply negligence; it is a deliberate act of sabotage against the environment.
Visible and worrying consequences
The effects of these acts are immediate and serious:
How can we demand development while destroying what has been put in place for the well-being of all?
Call for responsibility and punishment
It is urgent to end this culpable tolerance. Immediate measures must be taken to identify and penalize any concession where a gutter is deliberately opened and used as a dump. The fear of punishment must replace the habit of impunity.
"Civic-mindedness is not an option, much less a slogan: it is a moral obligation towards our community," recalls a concerned citizen.
A clean and sustainable city isn't built solely with concrete, but with responsible citizens. If we refuse to change our behavior, we will remain the primary architects of the disorder we denounce.
Towards a collective awareness
The preservation of the urban environment and the safety of everyone depend on individual and collective commitment. It is time for every Guinean to understand that respecting public infrastructure is an essential act of citizenship.
