Côte d’Ivoire : Le Conseil national de sécurité dresse un bilan de 11 morts et 1658 interpellations après la présidentielle
Meeting on November 13, 2025 under the chairmanship of the Head of State, the National Security Council presented the security assessment of the recent presidential election, marked by multiple incidents across the country.
According to the official statement, the election was disrupted by barricaded roads, the burning of IEC premises, the destruction of polling stations, intercommunal clashes, attacks against security forces and even an attempt to sabotage energy infrastructure.
The report states that there were 11 deaths, including a gendarmerie officer, 71 injured and 1,658 arrests, as well as significant material damage.
President Alassane Ouattara condemned the violence and pointed to the responsibility of certain political actors. He expressed his solidarity with the affected families and victims.
He also instructed the Minister of Justice to shed full light on these disturbances and to expedite the prosecution of the perpetrators and those who ordered them.
