Le Burkina interdit la diffusion de TV5 Monde pour "désinformation" et "apologie du terrorisme"
The military regime of Burkina Faso on Tuesday banned the broadcast of the French television channel TV5 Monde for "disinformation" and "apology for terrorism" in its coverage of jihadist violence in the country and neighboring Mali, the High Council for Communication (CSC) announced.
"The High Council for Communication, by decision (...) of May 5, 2026, has banned the broadcasting of TV5 Monde television programs in Burkina Faso," it wrote in a statement. "The offenses committed, which relate to disinformation and the glorification of terrorism, were noted in several editions of the television news program, from April to May 2026," it specified.
