Législatives en Côte d'Ivoire: le parti au pouvoir obtient plus de 77% des sièges
The ruling party in Ivory Coast won more than 77% of the seats in Saturday's legislative elections, further consolidating its hegemony, two months after Alassane Ouattara's re-election for a fourth term, according to results announced Monday by the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI).
The Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) won 197 of the 255 seats, 34 more than in the outgoing Assembly.
This overwhelming trend is in line with the presidential election in October where Alassane Ouattara was re-elected with nearly 90% of the vote, in an election deprived of the two major opposition figures, who were removed from the electoral lists.
However, Saturday's turnout remained low at 35% (2 points lower than in 2021), following a presidential election in which one in two voters had already abstained.
As expected, the RHDP achieved a resounding victory in the north of the country, its historical stronghold dominated by the Malinke ethnic group of President Ouattara, where its scores sometimes reach 100%.
But the party has also consolidated its foothold in the southern and western areas, historically supportive of the opposition.
The Democratic Party of Ivory Coast (PDCI), the main opposition party, saw its number of deputies halved, from 66 to 32.
The other major opposition party, the Party of African Peoples of Ivory Coast (PPA-CI) of former president Laurent Gbagbo, had called for a boycott of the election and had not presented any candidates.
Finally, around twenty MPs were elected as independents, but a large part of them are dissidents from the RHDP who could vote with the majority for the next five years.
The vote was "generally carried out in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, notwithstanding some acts of violence and irregularities which had no impact on the integrity of the electoral operations," said the president of the IEC, Ibrahime Kuibiert Coulibaly, on Monday during the proclamation of the results.

La Côte d'Ivoire est un pays qui est toujours instable et elle est encore passée à côte d'une guerre civile qui aurait pu tout détruire à cause de ce crouton et sénile de Ouatara qui n'a pas hésité à sacrifier ses opposants. Heureusement que les ivoiriens ne l'ont pas suivi dans sa tentative de sacrifier encore des vies humaines pour se maintenir au pouvoir.
Les pays ou les présidents en exercice bâillonnent l'opposition, font tout pour se maintenir au pouvoir et exercent des 3ème, 4éme et 5éme mandat ne sont pas des pays stables car toute organisation d'élection est un risque puisque tout peut y péter du jour au lendemain.
Heureusement que le Sénégal a dépassé ce stade et est donc bcp plus stable que ces pays. N'eût été cette dette caché de 8000 milliards et la gestion catastrophique de terre brûlée de Macky, le Sénégal serait aujourd'hui sur la bonne voie de l'émergence mais avec cette dette cachée, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans les abîmes. Macky a été un président lâche et méchant. Il a tout cramé et tout bousillé, tout pillé avant de partir nous laissant un pays en ruine financièrement et économiquement.
