Linguère: une rixe entre deux jeunes hommes vire au drame
The village of Loumbol Demba, located 36km from the town of Thiél (Linguère department), was the scene of a violent fight between two young men. Amadou Ba, 24 years old, was brutally killed with machetes by an unidentified man.
The tragedy occurred on Friday, January 30, 2026, around 3 a.m.
During the altercation, the victim reportedly received several blows to the neck, resulting in a deep wound that damaged the cervical vertebrae. This injury was the only trace found on the victim's body. After committing the crime, the alleged murderer fled, leaving the victim lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
Alerted, the head nurse of the Thiél health post, accompanied by members of the Linguère gendarmerie, went to the scene of the tragedy.
After the usual procedures, the lifeless body was taken to the morgue of the Maguette Lo hospital in Linguère by the firefighters.
The police have opened an investigation to find the suspected murderer.
