Macky Sall raconte un tournant de sa carrière politique : « c’est là que tous mes problèmes ont commencé »
In an interview/podcast with H5 Motivation, former President Macky Sall recounted his life story, his career as an engineer, politician, and former leader. The Senegalese president from 2012 to 2024 recounted one of the turning points in his political career, which occurred between 2007 and 2009.
"With Mr. Abdoulaye Wade, I served as a minister several times. I also headed Infrastructure after the Joola shipwreck, which was very hard work. I held other positions, and then I was Prime Minister for three and a half years. In 2007, during the presidential election, Wade appointed me campaign manager, and he won in the first round. During this second term, the president decided to send me to the National Assembly. That's how I became Speaker of Parliament. And that's where all my problems began," the former president recounted.
In the National Assembly, Macky Sall faced political games and influence, and alienated a large number of PDS members. In 2009, President Wade summoned him and dismissed him from parliament. "I saw the loneliness, and the void created itself. Which is normal because no one wanted to die with me. I decided to resign and join the opposition," added Macky Sall, who would later create the Alliance for the Republic (APR).
The National Assembly was the beginning of his problems with the Democratic Party of Senegal (PDS), but allowed him to open a new chapter that would lead him to lead Senegal for 12 years.

Il a voulu auditer Karim Wade. Même si ce dernier est un grand voleur aussi que je ne défend pas.
Il n’a pas retenu les leçons du passé. Il a laissé sa famille et ses amis se partager le peu de sous que nous disposons.
