Mali : L’armée escorte des cargaisons d’essence en provenance du Sénégal
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) refuse to let terrorist groups dictate their laws along the Dakar-Bamako corridor. Last week, Senegalese truck drivers transporting their cargo to Mali were kidnapped by these armed gangs and later released. This Wednesday, the FAMa decided to escort fuel tankers arriving from Senegal.
"In an effort to ensure the regular supply of fuel to the population, a FAMa escort mission marked out, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, tankers containing petroleum products, trucks and civilian vehicles coming from Senegal," the FAMa announced on its official website.
This is a mission to protect people and property, according to the escort leaders. "We reassured the drivers and brought them to their destination without incident," explained the head of the mission, Lieutenant Mamadou Coulibaly.
He assures that the army is determined to protect the integrity of Malian territory: "We are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the freedom and integrity of our territory," the soldier said.
