According to information reported by Maliweb, Mahamad Ag Algabasse, the nephew of former Malian MP Alghabass Ag Intallah, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, on the Annefif-Tessalit road, while attempting to launch a kamikaze drone against an army convoy.

His death is believed to have been caused by improper handling of the device. It is worth noting that the 24-year-old was a member of the Tuareg rebellion. His uncle, Alghabass Ag Intallah, was the head of the Coordination of Azawad Movements (Azawad), the coalition that signed the Algiers Agreement.
