Licenciement massif au sein du renseignement au Nigeria
Nigeria's intelligence service announced on Tuesday that it had dismissed 115 of its employees, the second major recent reshuffle within the security apparatus of Africa's most populous country.
"As part of ongoing reforms within the Department of State Services (DSS), a total of 115 employees have been laid off," the DSS announced in a statement.
The period during which the dismissals took place is not specified, but the names and photos of the dismissed people, as well as the dates of their dismissal, appear on the DSS website, showing that some date back to April.
These dismissals follow a reshuffle of the top military hierarchy by President Bola Tinubu last month, amid press reports of a coup plot.
The government and the military have officially denied reports that at least 16 officers were arrested for an alleged coup plot, claiming they were arrested for disciplinary reasons.
