Niger : La fête de l'Aïd al-Fitr désormais fériée sur deux jours

On March 3, 2026, the Council of Ministers adopted a draft ordinance amending the 1997 law on public holidays. In line with the recommendations of the National Conference for Refoundation, the text stipulates that Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, will now be a public holiday on the day itself and the following day.

Furthermore, March 26th is established as "Refounding Day", in reference to the Refounding Charter promulgated on March 26, 2025, in order to celebrate patriotic commitment and the values of national sovereignty.
