Niger : La junte suspend l’exportation des pierres précieuses et météorite
In Niger, General Abdourahmane Tiani signed a decree on Friday, August 8, suspending the export of certain mineral substances. These include precious stones, semi-precious stones, and meteorites. Exemptions to this measure may be granted by order of the Minister of Mines at the request of interested parties.
These exemptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis in the interest of the country.
It should be recalled that the military regime opened an investigation last July after the auction in the United States of a meteorite discovered in Agadez. This "Martian rock, the largest ever found on Earth, was sold for 5 million dollars."
