Niger : Nathalie Yamb reçue par le général Tiani

Nigerien President Abdourahmane Tiani received Nathalie Yamb in his office yesterday, Monday, August 11, 2025. The activist discussed with his host the European Union (EU) sanctions against him.

"I met him following the sanctions that the Council of the European Union imposed on me. I was sanctioned over a month ago because I was accused of wanting to oust France and Europe from the African continent," declared the Swiss-Cameroonian, as she left the hearing.

"To the people of Niger and the AES, these sanctions have not brought me down."

She promises to continue the fight for "the sovereignty of Africa and the ESA countries" despite these punitive measures.

"To the people of Niger and the AES, these sanctions have not brought me down. On the contrary, they are confirmation that I am fighting the right fight, that we are fighting the right fight, and that I have no intention of succumbing to the violence induced by the sanctions that have been imposed. It is an encouragement to move forward," said the activist, who thanked President Tiani and his government for their support.

They "reassured me that this fight is ours and that we will fight it together until the end of the tunnel, until victory."
