Octobre rose : 300 femmes de Sédhiou ciblées pour une campagne de dépistage gratuit des cancers féminins
In this month of Pink October, dedicated to raising awareness and combating breast and cervical cancer, a crucial initiative is being launched in the Sédhiou region. A multidisciplinary team is mobilizing to offer free breast and cervical cancer screening to women in rural areas, with an ambitious goal of targeting 300 women.
Breast and cervical cancer pose a serious threat to women's health, particularly in rural areas where access to specialized care is often limited. Early detection, however, is key to ensuring effective treatment and significantly increasing the chances of recovery.
Faced with this challenge, the objective of screening 300 women in Sédhiou aims to reduce mortality linked to these cancers, to break down the geographical and financial barriers that prevent women from accessing screening, and to raise awareness among communities of the warning signs and the importance of prevention.
The success of this campaign relies on the presence of a comprehensive and qualified team, composed of doctors, gynecologists, midwives, nurses, and community health workers.
