Insultes en ligne entre Béninois et Gabonais : Le Bénin alerte et prône la paix avec le Gabon
Following the persistent tensions on social networks, in a press release issued on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the government of the Republic of Benin follows with deep concern the increase in invectives and outrageous remarks exchanged in recent days on social networks between certain Beninese and Gabonese citizens, particularly against the authorities of the two countries.
Faced with this regrettable situation, the government calls on everyone to exercise restraint and to
responsible communication and mutual respect. He wishes to recall the historical, fraternal and friendly ties which unite the Beninese and Gabonese peoples, and which it is essential to preserve in a spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
The Beninese authorities reiterate their commitment to guaranteeing the safety and protection of Gabonese nationals on the national territory, just as the Gabonese authorities ensure that of their own.
