Présidentielle en Guinée : Dadis Camara apporte son soutien à ce candidat
In Guinea, the presidential election will take place on Sunday, December 28th. This election is intended to turn the page on a transition period of more than four years led by the coup leader, General Mamadi Doumbouya. Doumbouya is running for re-election and has the support of Moussa Dadis Camara.
"It is President Doumbouya whom I, your child, support."
The former Guinean president, sentenced to 20 years in prison for his responsibility in the September 28, 2009 massacre, announced last week that he was taking up the cause of the current occupant of the Mohamed V palace.
“I am from Koulé Yaketa, I am your child. You who are in Koulé (…) all ethnicities combined and without exception, join hands, be united so that there are no more quarrels in Koulé. For this upcoming election, it is President Doumbouya whom your child, I, support. He is the one whom the citizens of Koulé support,” declared Dadis Camara, addressing the inhabitants of his native village during a meeting of the GMD party (Generation for Modernity and Development).
It is worth noting that the former head of state has been in Morocco since being pardoned in March 2025 for health reasons. He also addressed the residents of Koulé via videoconference.
His support for Mamadi Doumbouya's candidacy may be a sign of recognition towards the former legionnaire.
