Présidentielle du 28 décembre en Guinée : La DGE met en place deux commissions pour encadrer les parrainages et la caution des candidats

With less than three months to go before the presidential election scheduled for December 28, 2025, the General Directorate of Elections (DGE) of the Republic of Guinea is continuing preparations for the electoral process. In a press release published on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the institution headed by Djenabou Touré announced the creation of two commissions essential to the organization of the election:

  1. A commission for receiving and validating sponsorships;
  2. A financial commission, responsible for setting the deposit and the ceiling for campaign expenses.

According to the official press release, "the sponsorship reception and validation commission is responsible for monitoring the identification of candidates and their sponsorships, under the authority of the election management body and in the presence of the representatives." The financial commission, for its part, will be tasked with "proposing the amount of the deposit to be paid by the candidates or their representatives, as well as the ceiling on campaign expenses that may be incurred by political parties or independent candidates taking part in the presidential election of December 28, 2025." This initiative marks a crucial step in the electoral process, aimed at ensuring the transparency, credibility and regularity of candidacies before the publication of the official list of candidates for the highest office.

The DGE invites political parties and independent candidates wishing to participate in the election to designate their representatives in the two commissions by October 9, 2025 at the latest. The files must include:

  1. The name of the designated agent;
  2. His position, his telephone contact, his email address;
  3. A letter of commitment on honor attesting to the desire to stand in the presidential election.

The information must be transmitted to the secretariat of the General Directorate of Elections, located in the Cameroun district, in the commune of Dixinn (Conakry). This approach is part of the technical and administrative preparations undertaken by the DGE to guarantee a peaceful and inclusive election, in accordance with the principles of transparency and electoral fairness.
